and I was getting really poor parameter adhesion on some parts so I tightened all my belts, and it got worse. In the long term I would like to get M5 working as I would like to try dual extruders eventually (which is what M5 is really designed for). Ive got a Rigidbot and Im using Simplify 3D. (I printed the arm with 2 different settings in one go with simplify 3d, processettings is included with the files.) The ball needs to sanded down a bit on the underside as it is hard to print a perfect sphere. As the Z axis motors aren't used very often and they don't drive allot of torque, I think this arrangement should work fine. Use the excellent front cover from Walters rigidbot LCD with this back cover to mount the LCD to the front of your makergear M2. The arm should be printed standing up with the rounded side down. I set the current limit in the configuration file to 2A. I decided to go ahead and test drive both motors with the M3 driver and it works just fine. They were very helpful but not able to fix the problem. I chatted with the support group in IRC at length about this.

Unfortunately I was never able to get any control current to come out of the M5 motor driver.

There are instructions for linking the two motor drivers together such that they drive the two motors together. Each motor driver is rated at 2A, but the two Z axis motors are rated at 1.3A, so if they are both tied to the same motor driver, they can not be driven at their full current capacity. Another gotcha I ran into was trying to use motor outputs M3 and M5 in tandum as the documentation suggests.
